Mini Review – The Honeymoon

Gemma is on her honeymoon in the Maldives. Sounds fabulous doesn’t it? Except her husband has disappeared and nobody seems to know where he is.

Gemma is distraught but there’s also some other feelings going on… relief? She’d been having second thoughts since her wedding day.

The plot flicks back and forth from the past so the reader can start to put together the pieces of the puzzle and begin to analyse the relationship.

At times, I found it difficult to warm to Gemma, she seemed irrational and very selfish; which added to the suspense as I wasn’t sure if to trust her or not.

I loved the concept of this plot, there were huge plot twists in both the past and the present scenes and the blame was passed around like a game of pass the parcel!

The ending was a corker, the thought hadn’t even entered my mind. The fact Seskis has the ability to trick the reader to never look in the direction of the killer is hands down her best quality.

This is a perfect summer read for those thriller lovers out there and if you dare… read it on holiday!

Until next time, Chloé x

      1. Yes that’s right – I watched the series first…I would be interested in your opinion, and see if it coincides with mine on some of the issues.
