Harry Potter Spell Tag

I was tagged by the lovely Fernanda over on the Mystery Date with a Book blog to do the Harry Potter Spell Tag… it’s pretty simple to follow. Each of the spells below create a theme and you have to think of a book that best fits… so here we go!!

expecto

A childhood book connected to good memories.

Of course it has to be the Harry Potter series!! I’ve grown up with this series and I have a lot of fond memories of reading all weekend so that when I went to school on Monday, I could discuss it with all my friends

expelliarmus

A book that took you by surprise

Another Night, Another Day definitely took me by surprise. It was an unexpected treat in my bargain basket from The Works and it really made me think about the impacts of mental health

prior incantato

The last book you read.

The last book I physically picked up to read would be Jonathan Franzen’s Purity at first I found this book quite hard to get into because of the complexity of the plot and the number of different characters but the more I read, the more I was hooked – expect a full review soon!

alohamoraA book that introduced you to a genre you hadn’t considered before.

It would have to be The Litigators by John Grisham which I read 4 years ago, this book introduced me to legal thrillers and I’ve been hooked ever since…

riddikulus

A funny book you’ve read.

I’m torn between Hester and Harriet and According to Yes both of these books really made me chuckle!!

sonorus

A book you think everyone should know about.

The Amber Shadows – Not only is this book incredibly well written but it can inspire people to learn about the history of coding and decoding in the second world war… I think any book that sends across a humble reminder of all the amazing things that have happened in history deserve a shout out

obliviate

A book or spoiler you would like to forget having read.

Jacob’s Folly by Rebecca Miller – I just LOVED this book and I wish I could obliviate my memory of the plot so I could read it again!

imperio

A book you had to read for school.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time… I don’t think I really appreciated it as much as I should have – I begrudged being told how many chapters I must read before each lesson!

crucio

A book that was painful to read.

Trust No One by Alex Walters…. it just didn’t work for me!! It didn’t flow and I found it rather abrupt at times, needless to say I never finished it!

avada

A book that could kill (interpret as you will).

The Tower by Simon Toyne – if the viral outbreak happened in real life…. it would be deadly!!

Although I think this tag has been aimed mainly at Harry Potter fans, it creates some great topics for all bookworms to answer so I’m going to tag the following fellow bloggers:

  1. Samantha
  2. Michelle
  3. Sarah

And I also leave this open to everyone else…. I look forward to seeing your answers!

Until next time, Chloé x
