Nothing Can Hurt You by Nicola Maye Goldberg

This is a cover that instantly caught my eye and I knew I had to have it! I knew nothing about the plot and had not even read the blurb before reading it… so I read this book with entirely fresh eyes… and guess what? I loved it.

Told from a large number of POVs, Goldberg stitches together how Sara’s death has affected those close to her and total strangers. With such a large number of characters I wondered how it would all come together but I had nothing to worry about as Goldberg expertly weaved together storylines, creating the most incredible connections throughout.

The thriller genre is packed full of astounding books right now but it’s becoming harder and harder to standout as plots overlap with ideas that have been overused, Nothing Can Hurt You soars above the mass market thriller plots and presents the reader with a unique perspective on the aftermath of a death.

At times I wondered if this story falled into a different genre but the way Goldberg explores the darkest and most sinister thoughts of her characters kept it firmly in the thriller category for me.

Goldberg’s ability to juggle so many characters and build a connection between the reader and each character shows how talented she is and capable of capturing so much detail/personality in just one chapter… outstanding!

At 223 pages, it’s a quick book that is easy to read in one or two sittings due to the pace and individuality of each chapter.

Nothing Can Hurt You is out now in hardback and eBook versions from Raven Books!
