Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty

Wow. Wow. Wow. Could this be Moriarty’s best novel yet? I think so!

We’re invited to join nine strangers as they begin their ten day retreat at Tranquillium House to focus on their health and wellness. The owner promises that they’ll leave feeling completely different. These guests need this to be true! They’re all suffering in their own way: grief, greed, depression, anxiety, low self esteem and weight problems. But this retreat isn’t like others… their methods are unusual… some might say alarming. How will it all turn out?

Well without giving much away, I must say this book took me completely by surprise. I’d already plotted out in my head the way this plot would play out and *WHAM* completely, utterly different.

The characters have such a complex range of emotions and Moriarty has really delved deep to explore hidden feelings that are bubbling under the surface.

With it flicking between the characters to piece together the events that are unfolding at the retreat, the story unfolds in the most delicious way, giving you snippets into the lives of the guests and building up the story to maximum effect. The individual parts come together like the instrumental parts of an orchestra and together make a master piece, truly!

Absolutely adored this book and whilst this isn’t the longest review (as I really didn’t want to spoil anything), I hope it makes you intrigued to find out more about it!
